Carolina PRG has partnered with a growing, private equity-backed organization seeking a Staff Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, and audit support. You’ll work alongside experienced accounting professionals, collaborate with other departments, and learn how accurate financial information supports business decisions. What You’ll Do

• Support the preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements and reports, including identifying trends and variances.
• Reconcile operating cash accounts and record daily cash receipts and payments in the general ledger.
• Assist with month-end close by preparing journal entries and accruals, researching discrepancies, and resolving questions.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for external audits.
• Work with other departments to support timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency.
• Maintain organized accounting records and assist with special projects.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• One to two years of progressive accounting experience; Big Four or national public accounting firm experience preferred.
• CPA designation or progress toward certification preferred.
• Knowledge of general accounting principles and applicable compliance requirements.
• ERP experience and intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and sound judgment when handling confidential information.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
• A proactive approach to learning, meeting deadlines, and working both independently and with a team.
